I`is the honour of God to conceal an event, But the honour of Kings to search out. The height of the ·sl<ies, and the depth of the earth, 3 And the hearts ot kings are unsearchable. On removing the dross from the silver, The metal comes out for use ; So remove all the bad from a king, And his throne will then rest on the good. §\gniu¤i fmiznintiun. Show not display in the sight of a king, Nor assume the position of honour, Come up here} T han put down in the sight of the prince, Whose eyes have been looking on you l Qgaiust Qxmrrzls. Go not in haste into strife, Reflect what may be the result, Should your neighbour prevail against you; So discuss the affair with your neighbour; But to another reveal not the thing, Lest he should report your mistake, And you cannot withdraw what you said. ®u Wis: §¤ci¤I intzrmursz. Like golden apples on silver plates, Is a word for a word in its turn. Like a ring of gold with a precious gem, To a listening ear is a wise instructor. Like an ice-cooler in time of harvest, Is a trusty messenger to his sender, For his,master’s mind is refreshed. A man is clouds, and wind without rain, Who falsely boasts he is liberal. A prince is persuaded by patience ; I0
