20 Z1 22 To the messenger to the assembly in Pergamos write 2 ° Thus says the possessor of the

sharp double-edged sword: I know whcmvou dwell-—where the throne of fSatan s. Yet you have preserved My Name, and have not denied My faith, even in the time of Antipas M y witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. I have never- theless a little against you, because you have there some who ere holders of the teaching of Balaam, who in- structed Balak to place a stumbling- block before the sons of Israel, by eating idol-ollerings and indulging in fornication. Thus you have also some who are holders of the teaching like that of the corrupters of the people. Berepentant, therefore; failing which, I will speedily come to you, and Iwill wage war against them with the sword which is in my sheath. ‘Whoever has an ear to hear, let

him listen to what the Spirit says to the assemblies. Hold it, and reform! However, it you are not watchful, I shall come like a thief, and you shall not know the time of My coming upon you. Yet you have a small number in Sardis, who have not soiled their clothing; and they shall walk with Mein white; because they are worthy.
