And he placed his right foot upon the sea, but his left upon the land; while, with aloud voice, ro- sembling the roaring of a lion, he roared, When he had cried, the seven thunders also uttered their voices. And when the seven thunders had spoken, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from the heaven, saying, ‘Seal up. what the seven thunders Then the angel whom I saw stationed upon the sea and upon the land lifted his righthand heavenward, and swore by Him living in the eternities of the eternities, Who created the heaven and what is in it, the earth and what it contains, and the sea and what is in it, thattime should no longer inter- vene; but in the days of the speaking of the seventh angel,when he is ready to proclaim, then the secret of: God will be completed according as He had promised to His own servants the prophets. Then the voice which I heard Homheaven again spoke with me, and said, ‘Go, take the little open book which is in the hand ofthe angel stationed upon the sea and upon the land}? So I went to the angel, asking him to give me thevery little book. And he said and eat it up;”and it willembitter your stomach, although in your _mouth it will be sweet as hoe? I accordinltook th nygy e very smal ‘hookfrom the hand of the angel, and ate it up: and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey; but when I had swallowed it, my stomach was in tor— You must again prophesy against races, and nations, and languages, and many mas. Then he handed to me a reed like a measuring-rod, saying, ' Rise up, and measure the sanc-

These possess the power to close up the sky, so that no rain may fall during the period of their preaching; they have also power over. the waters to convert them into blood, and to scourge the earth with every plague as often as they may de- sire. But when they shall have finished their evidence, the monster coming up from the abyss shall wage war with them, and conquer them, and slay them. And their corpses shall be ex- posed. upon the marketplace of the great city,.which spiritually is named Sodom and Egyt; where also th geir Masterwascruci ed. Thenallpersons kom the races, and tribes, and lan- guages, and nations, shall gaze upon their dead bodies for three days and a half, refusing to allow their corpses to be entombed. And the inhabitants of the earth will also exult over them and make merry; and they will send pre- sents to.one another; because these two prophets irritated the dwellers upon the earth. But after three days and a half, a
Spirit of Life from God entered into them, and. they stood upon their feet; then great terror fell upon those who watched them. They heard a loud voice from heaven calling to them, » So they ascended into the heaven into the cloud; and their enemies watched them. And at that very hour there was a mighty earthquake, and the tenth part o the city fell, and. seven thousand persons were killed in the earthquake; when the rest became terrihed and gave glory to the God of heaven. The second woe is past.
