the GOD of Israel, to all the transports whom I have transported from ]eru· salem to Babel. Build houses, and fruit. Marry wives and beget sons and daughters, and let, your sons take wives, and give your daughters to husbands, and let them bear sons and daughters, and increase and not diminish. You must also seek for the prosperity of the city into which I have transported you, and pray on account of it to the Evan-mvmc, for by its prosperity you will prosper.
