Smuza 2. ‘I will arrange for the morning,-· And lower the tents for advance Take Gilad, Menasseh, and Ephraim; And judah to strengthen my Van; I will wash Moab off like a flood, O’er Edom will stride in my boots; And over Philistia cheer! 'Who will storm me the fortified Camp? Who with me on Edom will charge? We are not forsaken by QOD, GOD will not our armies desert! My GOD! when I pray be not silent;

Against me the wicked and bad open mouth, \Vith false tongue about me they speak, And with venomous words they surround, And assail me without any cause l STANZA 2. In return for my love, they revile, And yet I had pleaded for them! They return to me evil for good, And hatred instead of my love. Let Sin have the mastery of them, And Satan stand at their right hand. ln judgment be found in the wrong, And their plea be considered a crime. Let their days be but few ; Give their Office to others, Let their children be orphans, And wives, widows in want! Their sons wander and beg, And skulk amongst ruins! 754
